Wish Kid to Up His Technology Game

Idaho Wish Kid’s Love of Technology Brings Him Purpose

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (October 2020): Diamond’s sister was terrified, she found him on the floor and unresponsive. It was his first grand mal seizure. Neurological testing revealed he had intractable focal epilepsy, a seizure disorder that begins in one portion of the brain but can spread to other areas. He’s also legally blind. Doctors experimented with a variety of drugs, but the seizures and meds continued to take their toll on him, affecting his energy, independence, and quality of life. It was time for more drastic measures.

He underwent surgery, and while his seizures lessened, he still struggles with episodes. With his narrowed lifestyle of new limitations, Diamond’s love of technology and electronics expands his world and brings him purpose. He aspires to work in information technology. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true, purchasing Diamond a generous Amazon gift card so he could shop for all the cutting-edge technologies on his wish list. “This means so much to me,” he said. “Thank you so much!”

“Diamond’s wish gives him something special just for himself, and will bring his technologies to the next level,” said his Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner.

Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
