LEGO Wish Builds Excitement for Meaningful Family Getaway by Kids Wish Network

KATHLEEN, Ga. (December 2021): Jack’s mouth gaped open when he saw what was inside the big box he received from Kids Wish Network. He was in awe of the massive pirate ship LEGO set. Jack’s wish coordinator was also there in a live video call to share in his excitement. “I love LEGOs!” he told her beaming with joy. And he was completely unsuspecting of what was coming next.

The LEGO set hid another surprise that was tucked underneath. It was all the essentials for his family to travel to LEGOLAND! There were generous gift cards for airfare, Hotels.com, and more gifts, in addition to the tickets they’ll be receiving for LEGOLAND courtesy of Merlin’s Magic Wand and Universal Studios. His mom Natasha burst into tears. “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh Jack!” she yelled as she continued to cry. “Jack, you get to go LEGOLAND!” Seeing his mom so overcome with emotion, he sweetly put his hand on her shoulder and asked, “Mom, are you ok?” She nodded and assured him, “I’m just so excited for you.” Finding out about Jack’s meaningful wish was an emotional moment for his family. “This is incredible, I thought the LEGO set itself was amazing,” said his mom to Kids Wish Network. “Thank you so much.”

The past year has been very difficult for Jack since his diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. The severity of his illness has been overwhelmingly taxing on his body. He sleeps 12 to 14 hours a day, and sometimes isn’t able to eat for days. His wish will give him something special to look forward to, and a meaningful getaway for his family celebrating Jack’s happiness in the places he’s been dreaming of.
