Young Hero Courageously Copes Throughout Hospitalization

Greta has been dealing with digestive issues her whole life, and she was last hospitalized for failure to thrive and poor weight gain. Since she was admitted, Greta has endured many medical and GI specific procedures, many being for the first time. She has remained brave and willing to try new ways of coping with her child life specialists. Greta has also been part of a few hospital special events since admission to help keep her spirits up. Greta has a smile that lights up the room. 

She was nominated by her Child Life Specialist Abbey Vacca at CHRISTUS Children’s in San Antonio, Texas. Kids Wish Network rewarded Greta as a Hero for her brave willingness of treatments, and ability to cope during all the unknowns of her hospital stay.
