Treasured Wish is Worth its Weight in Gold
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (September 2023): Austin is captivated by jewelry, and is especially in awe of shiny gold watches, necklaces and bracelets. Kids Wish Network made his dream come true, sending him to Levy’s Fine Jewelry, a high-end jewelry store as multi-faceted as its unique history, antique heirlooms and modern collections. Kids Wish Network and Levy’s Fine Jewelry teamed up to give Austin a generous gift certificate for a dazzling once-in-a-lifetime shopping experience.
Austin was warmly welcomed and assisted by Levy’s associate Joseph Denaburg, a 4th generation family member who continues to honor his namesake’s jewelry business that began over 100 years ago. Austin picked out a luxury Tissot watch, 14kt yellow gold rope necklace, and multi-gemstone bracelet. He was also kindly gifted bracelets to add sparkle to his other wrist, and a gold pendant that he now wears on his new adored chain.
“He’s very proud of his bracelet, necklace and watch,” said his mom Tawanya. “He’s been talking about the watch ever since.”
Austin’s special wish experience also included a chauffeured spin around the downtown in a swanky vintage Rolls-Royce, courtesy of Coats Classic Cars. “We felt like the Royal Family and noticed lots of heads turning,” said his mom. Restaurants were also planned around Austin’s favorite foods, having burgers for lunch at Paramount who provided a gift card for the family’s meals. Trattoria ZaZa also invited his family to dine with them to help celebrate his memorable wish.
It was a very special day for Austin. He felt as treasured as the gold he now adoringly wears with ongoing joy.
Austin has Dravet syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy that makes seizures very difficult to control even with several medications. He’s also undergone brain surgery. Having so many seizures since infancy has additionally caused cognitive and developmental delays.
