Hero Faces Long Recovery with Optimism and Bravery

Maddie has had a tough journey. She was hospitalized following a serious ATV accident leading to a long admission. Throughout her hospitalization, she endured numerous surgeries and procedures. Due to the injury, Maddie will continue to have a long recovery. While she has been discharged from the hospital, she continues wound care and physical therapy regularly. With her experiences, Maddie has been a Hero. She has been strong, invincible and brave. Throughout her journey she has shown resilience. Even though Maddie’s journey hasn’t been easy, she always presents a positive attitude and uses her humor to find light in any situation. “Maddie is truly amazing,” said her Child Life Specialist and nominatorShannon Kaufmann from OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. “Her determination and motivation will propel her beyond this injury!” Kids Wish Network is happy to acknowledge Maddie as a Hero of the Month
