Teen Bravely Takes Action to Live Best Life

Payton coped with symptoms from her condition that went undiagnosed for many years. She finally felt that her voice was heard after finding a physician who truly listened to her struggles and concerns. After being informed about a surgery that could change her life, she researched options and made the “terrifying and exciting” decision to take action and undergo the major surgery. Payton’s perseverance continued through all the challenges she endured post-surgery, and she willingly participated in physical therapy despite it being difficult. She’s described as a hard worker, and maintained her great sense of humor. She was nominated by her Child Life Specialist Madeline Lehman at INTEGRIS Children’s in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kids Wish Network is happy to honor Payton as a Hero of the Month.
