Wish Girl Indulges in Shopping Splurge

Adrienne’s Retail Therapy

Like most girls, Adrienne loves to shop – especially at Target. Kids Wish Network gave Adrienne a wish come true! She received a sizable gift card to Target and a Happy Her gift card that she can use for a variety of popular stores like Macy’s, Express, Sephora, and more. Her retail therapy also included a trip to Journeys, who donated a gift card fabulously presented inside a JanSport backpack. She indulged in an extravagant shopping splurge!

Adrienne suffers from sickle cell anemia, an inherited and painful condition where red blood cells become crescent-shaped and can’t adequately carry sufficient oxygen throughout the body. At three months old, she had many week-long hospital stays. Adrienne’s illness has affected her bodily organs over the years, and she had to have her gallbladder removed. Over time, her monthly transfusion treatments also caused complications. She was at high-risk for a stroke and hospitalized for weeks.

“Adrienne’s wish gave her special time for herself that was all about her,” said her Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner. “She had so much fun shopping for all her favorite things.”
