Wish for American Girl Doll Turns into Spree

Grace Treasures American Girl Collection

WASHINGTONVILLE, N.Y. (January 2021): Grace is happiest when she’s playing with her dolls. She’s been longing for the iconic American Girl dolls and accessories, and already knew which ones she’d get if she was ever lucky enough. Grace’s wish was revealed to her on her birthday with a celebration complete with balloons and a cake provided by Stop and Shop. Kids Wish Network made her ultimate shopping spree come true, purchasing her a generous American Girl gift card that not only gave Grace her favorite doll, but also a bevy of American Doll friends, furniture, and accessory sets that most little girls could only dream of. “She’s so happy,” said her mom Lucia. “Thank you so much!” When she shops online, she’ll also have her own American Girl virtual personal shopper to help guide her. 

Grace struggles with localization-related epilepsy, experiencing absence and tonic-clonic seizures. She previously had a major seizure on her school bus that caused her to blackout and hit her head, and it continues to be unsettling not knowing when she’ll have an episode. Grace also has cognitive impairments, yet continues to keep trying her best.  

“We’re so happy that Grace can now have what she was really hoping for, even beyond what she could have dreamed for herself,” said her Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner.
