Wish Bridges Love Across the Miles by Kids Wish Network
READING, Pa. (September 2021): Jowell’s health condition was so rare, that his family had to move from Puerto Rico to Pennsylvania for the proper medical attention. It was very difficult saying goodbye to family. He adores his grandmother, and while the years have passed and they continue to speak on the phone each day, he dearly misses her across the miles. Kids Wish Network made his dream come true, purchasing Jowell a generous CheapOair gift card for his family to use whenever they’re able to travel. It’ll be so meaningful for his family to be reunited again. His grandmother just moved to Orlando, Florida, so in addition to spending time with her, his wish also includes tickets to Universal Studios theme parks! It will be a memorable trip of family togetherness, bridging their love across the miles.
When Jowell was a toddler, he began showing disturbing symptoms. After much testing, he was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an extremely rare illness that causes weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles. He also had a brain tumor, and underwent surgery to remove it. Jowell has already lost vision in one eye, and is attempting to control his condition with intravenous immunoglobulin infusion treatments.
