House of Dreams with Foundation of Love by Kids Wish Network

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (September 2021): Journey is imaginative and dreams about princesses, unicorns and her ultimate playhouse complete with a magical rainbow slide. Kids Wish Network made it possible for her to design her own dreamy playhouse, giving her family a generous Lowe’s gift card to create her ultimate girly hangout. “Sweetheart, you’re going to be able to build your very own playhouse,” said her mom Tara. “Isn’t that awesome?!” Journey’s mouth gaped open. She held the treasured gift cards in her little hands and joyfully smiled. Her new labor of love will be a special place for Journey to play and continue dreaming, she now knows her biggest wishes can come true. 

Journey’s early years were full of uncertainty. She was diagnosed at only 8 months old with Wilms’ tumor, a rare kidney cancer, and went through multiple surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments. Battling the cancer left her with one kidney, and it wasn’t the end of her cancer struggles. A follow-up appointment revealed a tumor in her heart’s artery. She once again underwent treatments and surgery to remove the cancer. She continues to be monitored every six months.
