Hunter Hopes His Wish Will Take Him to New Heights
Hunter's journey began with a little tick bite he got while having the time of his life, playing outside. His family quickly removed it, thinking everything would be just fine. But soon, a peculiar bull's-eye rash appeared, which sent him on an unexpected adventure. His family rushed him to the doctor, and he was treated with antibiotics. At first, things seemed alright, but life had other plans for Hunter.
As days turned into weeks, Hunter started feeling more and more tired while battleing persistent headaches and high fevers. That's when he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease, an inflammatory illness known for its troublesome rash, headaches, fever, and chills. It can even lead to arthritis, neurological complications, and heart issues. Hunter was a real-life warrior in this battle.
The journey didn't stop there. Despite receiving another round of antibiotics, Hunter's health wasn't improving as they had hoped. So, his family embarked on a quest, seeking out different doctors and trying various treatments, determined to find the missing piece of Hunter's puzzle. Even though he had to bear the pain in his legs and stomach and fight through fatigue and depression, Hunter didn't give up.
This brave young scholar continued to excel in school, maintaining an impressive A average. His love for history and insatiable curiosity about the world fueled his dreams of becoming a pilot someday. Hunter knew that even the sky wasn't the limit for someone with dreams as big as his.
Kids Wish Network granted Hunter his wish to visit the Delta Airlines Operation Control Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Through the generosity of donors like you, we flew Hunter and his family to Atlanta to give him the experience of a lifetime.
During his visit, Hunter had the opportunity to explore the inner workings of Delta Airlines, witnessing firsthand the magic that happens behind the scenes to keep thousands of flights in the air daily. His favorite moment was operating the flight simulator. He loved soaring through virtual skies, living out his dream of being a pilot.
Hunter's story is a testament to the power of hope and the incredible work done by Kids Wish Network. With their support, Hunter's dream of reaching new heights is closer to coming true than ever before.
