Mississippi State Bulldogs Fan Gets His Wish

Alabama Boy Enjoys Football, Family, and Food

VESTAVIA, Ala. (December 2020): “Hey Charlie, I’m reaching out to you on behalf of Mississippi State Football and the entire Bulldogs family,” said Head Coach Mike Leach in a special video to Wish Kid Charlie. “We want you and your family to have a Merry Christmas!” This loyal Bulldogs fan was excited to find out that Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, was making his dream come true!  “Whoa!” said Charlie who gasped and smiled as he opened up the next surprise. Kids Wish purchased him a generous Mississippi State gift card for his family to see the Bulldogs play at Davis Wade Stadium, and shop for all of his Hail State gear and souvenirs.

Watching the Bulldogs play is a pastime that he and his family enjoy doing together. He also received a football personally signed to him by Coach Leach. Charlie’s excitement continued getting another gift card courtesy of Moe’s Original BBQ to help him further celebrate his wish. “Moe’s??? It’s my favorite!” Charlie exclaimed. The day after finding out about his wish, his mom Amanda said, “Thanks again for everything! He was still so excited he could hardly go to sleep last night.” 

It’s difficult at times for Charlie needing to be cautious with Hemophilia B, a genetic bleeding disorder. He has a port implanted and continues to need weekly infusions to avoid hemorrhaging.  

“Charlie will get to choose the games of his choice, and enjoy time with his family sharing their love of the Bulldogs,” said his Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner.
