Wish Kid Picks Out Ultimate Gaming System

MADISON, W. Va. (December 2020): Piercen really wanted a PS5 or new Xbox Series X, and got a part-time job to save up for his dream gaming system.  It was Piercen’s day off, and he thought he was just stopping in to work with his family to wish his boss a Merry Christmas. As it turns out, it was Piercen who was going to have the happiest holiday with a heartfelt surprise. There were balloons, family, and a very special message from his boss that would bring lots of cheer. “Kids Wish Network is making your dream come true,” said his boss and family friend Amanda Cox. “They’re giving you a very generous Best Buy gift card so you can pick out your ultimate gaming system!” The hardest part for Piercen will be deciding between a PS5 or Xbox. Luckily he doesn’t have to, he can now get both. He said his wish was “the best present ever!”

Piercen has been struggling with many health issues since he was four years old. The things that are wrong with Piercen wouldn’t show up on tests, and it took years for doctors to finally diagnosis him with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. “The stress, worry, and anxiety that it causes are horrendous. Sometimes you ask yourself when can we get a break, and you guys gave us a big break,” said his dad John to Kids Wish Network. “With the work you do we know you’ve touched thousands of lives, and you’ve really touched ours and we’re extremely grateful. He is completely thrilled and has not been able to stop smiling since.”

“His wish was a bright spot and something good to come out of all of this,” said his mom Sarah. “I couldn’t help but cry, I was so overwhelmed and happy for him.” 

Even though Piercen will now be getting his ultimate gaming systems through his wish, his boss joked he still needs to show up for work.  

“Despite Piercen’s health struggles, he was still determined to work hard for what he really wanted,” said his Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner. “We’re so happy we could surprise him with something that meant so much to him.”
