Teen Hero Endures Recovery with Determination and Positivity

Jesus is a Hero for his bravery throughout his multiple long hospitalizations during his recovery from a motor vehicle accident. He underwent multiple surgeries, procedures, dressing changes, pokes, and painful days, and through it all had a smile on his face. Jesus has persevered and endured many things a child his age should never have to go through. He was also very polite to each staff member. Jesus still has a long way to go in his recovery with many more surgeries, but he is dedicated to push through. 

“Jesus has been through so much over the last year with his healthcare journey,” said his Child Life Specialist Annie Insley at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. “He deserves to be recognized for his perseverance and dedication to his healing to get his arm back functioning the way it was prior to his accident.” 

Kids Wish Network awarded Jesus as a Hero for his courage, determination and positivity amid so much adversity.
