Hero Perseveres Through Fear, Pain and Unknowns

Brexlie had some major dental procedures that caused lots of trauma and fear. This sweet 7-year-old girl has refused to drink and eat after having nine teeth removed and dental work. She has gone to an ER and then transferred one hour from their home to get additional medical care. Brexlie has been hospitalized for nearly a week now, and is in need of some encouragement. She has been tough through all the pain. She is having to adjust to drinking, eating, and loving herself. She is so brave and strong.

“Being a Hero will continue to give her strength and courage,” said her Child Life Specialist Becky Imel at Northwest Texas Children’s Hospital, who nominated her. Kids Wish Network is happy to award Brexlie as a Hero of the Month.
