Carnival Wish Anchored in Kindness, Generosity and Fun
BAHAMAS (October 2024): Felicity was enjoying The Sandcastle Waterpark when a wave of excitement caught her attention. She heard her name over the loudspeaker, followed by a special announcement. Kids Wish Network was making her dream come true, sending Felicity and her family on a week-long Carnival cruise to the Bahamas! The waterpark further celebrated Felicity, providing her family’s admission for her reveal, and passes to come back. It was a memorable day, and they’d soon be anchors away!
Felicity felt like a VIP from the moment her family boarded Carnival’s cruise ship. “They went above and beyond,” said her mom Rachel. She had the honor of being invited to the bridge to meet the Captain, and even got to steer the ship. The Captain also gifted her a Captain bear stuffed animal with his name on it, along with additional signatures from bridge staff as a special souvenir. Another highlight was being called up on stage during a Bingo game and getting to choose the numbers. “Let’s just say I’m famous,” said Felicity. She felt like a celebrity getting to know so many people during her cruise.
At Half Moon Cay, she experienced a stingray adventure. That same afternoon, fellow passengers invited her family to join them at their Private Oasis excursion where she swam with fish and turtles, and lived the high life with a private chef, butler, cabana steward and lifeguard. It was a day of extravagance.
Another highlight was visiting the beautiful pink Atlantis resort, experiencing it’s extraordinary Aquaventure waterpark with 14 themed pools, waterslides, and a lazy river. They also explored the beaches and swam in the crystal clear waters. The Aquaventure Day pass was provided by Atlantis Paradise Island.
In Freeport, her family swam with pigs. Felicity enjoyed every moment, even getting to feed and hold some baby pigs. It was one of many favorite activities.
She was also showered with attention and presents. The manager of the onboard jewelry store kindly gifted Felicity a beautiful necklace. She also received a charm bracelet from another store manager, and the head of entertainment gave her a gift card to play games at the arcade. Carnival also provided so many perks like its Thing 1 and Thing 2 breakfast, Build-a-Bear bear and accessories, a personalized stitched pillow case, and spa treatments. DreamWorks, Carnivals photography studio, created a personalized book of pictures, a Captains hat, telescope, and access to all of the families professional photographs.
“My favorite part of the trip was going up to the bridge, and the staff, as they were just amazing,” said her mom. “They really went above and beyond, and anytime they saw her they would ask if there was anything that she needed. Everyone was so kind.”
Felicity also made an impression on the Captain. “Felicity brought tears of happiness to all of us, she’s such an incredibly sweet young lady,” he said. “Wishing her all the health and love in this world, she deserves it!”
