Anchors Away to Paradise… Destination Happiness
MIAMI, Fla. (August 2023): Ayshia was dreaming about island life. Her surprise wish reveal was her first taste of paradise enjoying an afternoon of water activities at SoFlo Water Adventures. She explored mangroves and Sandspur Island, taking in the beauty of nature kayaking, swimming and snorkeling, along with the amped up excitement of a private jet ski lesson. It was the perfect prelude to finding out that Kids Wish Network was making her dream come true, sending Ayshia and her mom on a Carnival cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman!
It was anchors away to paradise on her western caribbean cruise. Ayshia felt so special throughout her wish trip with staff going above and beyond to give her a VIP experience. “Every day the cruise director would check on us, give us gifts, and we went to shows with her,” said her mom Ann. Ayshia was also surprised at dinner with a cake that said Happy Wish Day to further celebrate her meaningful trip.
Some of her most memorable highlights were swimming with dolphins in the Cayman Islands, climbing the Dunn’s River Falls waterfalls in Jamaica, and continuing to soak up the island vibes of Ocho Rios relaxing at the beach.
Since returning home, her mom said she’s been so much happier with elevated positivity. All of the picturesque ports, special experiences, and kind people she met on her wish will stay with her as beautiful memories. SoFlo Water Adventures provided her wish reveal’s adventures, and Carnival Cruise Lines graciously donated Ayshia’s cruise and two excursions for Ayshia and her mom.
Ayshia’s cancer journey began when her mom noticed a large lump on her neck, within a week she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Ayshia underwent surgery to have her thyroid removed, and was further treated with radiation. She continues to be monitored by her oncologist.
