A Special Delivery with so Many Possibilities

SYLMAR, Calif. (August 2023): There are so many places that Theo wants to see in the world. Kids Wish Network is making it possible with a travel package including gift cards for Pack & Go, Hotels.com, and the means to help with additional travel incidentals. Theo was amazed at how much was included, making the hardest part deciding where to go. The whole family is so excited. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” said Theo’s mom with great appreciation. The wish will provide a much-needed getaway away from therapies, doctor appointments and daily stresses of Theo’s conditions. 

Theo was very passionate about performing ballet and tap until a turning point of injuries, and inability to keep up with other dancers. It turned out there was a reason for Theo’s decline. Testing revealed a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a condition that affects connective tissues, primarily the skin, joints and blood vessel walls. The illness progressed, and Theo can no longer walk. Additional conditions also make daily life completely different than before. Gastrointestinal motility disorder makes Theo completely dependent on a G-Tube for nutrition and an IV for hydration. Chronic abdominal pain also requires around the clock medication.
