Indiana Boy Gets Major Gaming Upgrade

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (December 2020): After getting home from school, Jaxon opened the door to his bedroom and didn’t even recognize it. How did this happen? Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made his dream come true with a big surprise, transforming his room into a state-of-the-art game zone.

Kids Wish purchased Jaxon a Cyberpower Gaming PC and Samsung curved monitor for the ultimate level up! His trendy new black and red gaming desk provided by Studio Designs and gaming chair donated by Arozzi will maximize his gaming experience. He also received gaming headphones, a new mouse and mouse pad courtesy of Eluktronics. Even a serious gamer needs time for sleep and organization, so Bob’s Discount Furniture sent a generous gift card with the help of their charitable foundation that Kids Wish used to purchase a stylish queen-sized headboard and matching lift-top dresser. Target donated a gift card for him to shop for room accents, his local Five Below provided gaming themed blanket with matching pillows, and Badger Steel USA donated a metal sign designating his room an official Gamer Zone. The hi-tech ambiance was elevated with color-changing LED strip lights donated by 1000Bulbs.com. Jaxon said, “It’s awesome, I love everything!” After exploring his new room, his family celebrated his wish coming true with a “level up” decorated cookie cake courtesy of Carl’s Donuts & Bakery. 

High-End Room Makeover is a Much Needed Escape

“Jaxon’s gaming room makeover turned out amazing, and will give him a much-needed escape from his ongoing health struggles,” said his Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner.

He has adrenal insufficiency, a condition where the body doesn’t produce cortisol, an essential hormone for the body to function properly. He has to take calculated replacement doses multiple times a day, and even an injury or sickness could put him into an adrenal crisis. Jaxon also has other challenges including asthma, GI issues, stress fractures, and bones that break easily. He sees several doctors in various states and continues to undergo physical and occupational therapies.
