Wish Kid Chosen and Celebrated as a LEGOLAND VIP
WINTER HAVEN, Florida – Steven was so excited being chosen to attend LEGOLAND Florida’s exclusive National Children’s Day VIP experience. He couldn’t wait to go to LEGOLAND for the first time, and it would be more than he dreamed of as a VIP!
Kids Wish Network flew his family to Orlando for his much anticipated getaway. When they arrived, Kids Wish Network staff met his family at the airport and headed straight to LEGOLAND. It all felt so surreal getting to experience it for himself, and it was finally happening! Steven was given the star treatment being personally escorted by LEGOLAND staff throughout the park’s attractions, and having a professional photographer document his amazing day.
LEGOLAND also gifted Steven and his siblings a backpack filled with goodies and many memories. Kids Wish Network also surprised him with LEGOLAND gifts after his day at the park.
Steven’s family enjoyed dinner at Ruby Tuesday, located at the entrance of the resort. His parents said, “They went above and beyond, and we were amazed by their generosity.” His family’s dinners were graciously donated by the restaurant.
He was further celebrated with a stay at the LEGOLAND Florida Hotel. The resort provided two rooms for a night’s stay, and Kids Wish Network provided an additional night.
It was a special time of family fun, firsts and meaningful memories.
When Steven was a toddler, he came down with a severe flu and fever, followed by a seizure and strokes. Testing revealed Steven had moyamoya, a rare vascular condition that causes reduced blood flow to the brain. He underwent brain surgery, and continues to need medication and frequent monitoring by his neurologist.
