Wish is Postcard Paradise with Dolphins, Sunsets and Luxury Beach Stay
CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (May 2024): There was more to Jacob’s birthday celebration than he realized. It was all kept hush hush until he received a video call from Kids Wish Network letting him know they were making his dream come true. Jacob and his family would soon be traveling from Kentucky to sunny Florida to experience the salt life!
Kids Wish Network flew Jacob and his family for his extraordinary getaway to Clearwater Beach. Their accommodations were beyond anything that Jacob could have imagined. His family stayed at the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach in an extravagant two story suite with an elevator, and stunning views of the pristine white sand, sparkling ocean and sunny skies. It was a living postcard. Jacob also loved the beachfront pool every evening. Their luxurious stay was generously provided by Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach.
He also experienced something very special that he was most excited to travel for, seeing dolphins. His family visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for a behind the scenes tour where he was able to touch a dolphin, and explore all kinds of aquatic life. His family took so many pictures to capture their meaningful family experiences. Some other highlights were the Little Toot Dolphin Adventure, an exhilarating boat ride where they watched the dolphins leaping and playing in the waves behind their boat. They were also immersed in the beauty of Florida’s spectacular sunsets aboard The Tropics Sunset Celebration Cruise sailing the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. These memorable experiences were courtesy of the attractions.
Dining also elevated Jacob’s beach getaway. He appreciated the kindness and delicious meals at Salty’s Island Bar & Grille, and Crabby’s Dockside Clearwater. Eating outside at Crabby’s further connected Jacob with beach life. Watching the seagulls added to the authentic Florida experience. Breakfast at Speggtacular was just that. Jacob’s server took time to get to know him, and their food was made to order with beautiful presentations. All of these kind restaurants graciously provided his family’s meals. They also enjoyed ice cream at Kilwins who donated a gift certificate for the family to indulge in the sweetness of summer.
The relaxing getaway was just what Jacob needed. He’s been through many challenges since his diagnosis of craniopharyngioma, a rare type of brain tumor that commonly forms near the pituitary gland. After Jacob’s first surgery to deflate the tumor, it grew back to the same size within days. He underwent another procedure and proton radiation treatment. The tumor destroyed his pituitary gland, and also caused Jacob to lose his peripheral vision.
