CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.(May 2021): Briley was wearing striped overalls, a conductor’s hat, and the biggest smile. His wish was coming true with Kids Wish Network, which engineered the perfect wish for this train enthusiast! His first stop was the Tennessee Valley Railroad to ride Thomas the Tank Engine. It was amazing for Briley to actually ride the character-themed train that’s the full scale of one of his favorite toys. His fun and the scenic journey continued with yet another ride on a steam engine, courtesy of the railroad. Other highlights of his wish included exploration at the Creative Discovery Museum, Tennessee Aquarium, and the Nashville Zoo, where he also got to ride a train, a camel and feed the giraffes.

These attractions were all aboard in providing tickets for Briley and his family. The Courtyard by Marriott Chattanooga Downtown provided beautiful accommodations that were close to all of his wish activities. His family also enjoyed memorable dining at the Big River Grille & BrewingWorks, Mellow Mushroom, and Sticky Fingers, courtesy of the restaurants. Kids Wish Network had yet another surprise for Briley to keep his joy in motion. They gifted him a new set of wheels, a ride-on Power WheelsDune Racer Extreme! There were also more gifts, Mattel graciously donated Thomas the Tank Engine hats, clothing, and toys for this adoring fan.

Before Briley’s diagnosis, he was frequently falling down and easily fatigued. Testing revealed he had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. He also copes with additional medical complications. Briley’s wish was something special to look forward to, and a time for his family to create cherished memories.
