Sisters Mikenzey and Olivia now know what it’s like to be superheroes. These young teens jumped into action after a one-year-old fell into a swimming pool. Mikenzey pulled him out and realized he wasn’t breathing. Every moment was crucial. She began chest compressions, but when they weren’t working, she quickly began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. On the second breath, the water he swallowed came up, and he began breathing again. Mikenzey then called 911 while Olivia took over with mouth-to-mouth and patting him on the back, getting even more water to come out. By the time police and firefighters arrived, he was already breathing on his own. The sisters’ quick actions and composure during the trauma saved the toddler’s life. Kids Wish Network is honored to award Mikenzey and Olivia as courageous Heroes for their life-saving actions in a chaotic time of crisis.
