Teen Keeps Forward Momentum Amid Struggles

Colby’s life was changed overnight. As a teen, he never expected it would become a series of hospitalizations, tests, procedures, and medications. There were also surgeries that caused additional complications and setbacks. Colby had many disappointments. He missed out on high school activities and events, yet maintained his faith that there were better days ahead. Through all the challenges, he kept a positive attitude and forwarded momentum in his life. Colby also impressed his teachers and was commended on his perseverance despite going through so much hardship. Even though he deals with so many of his own challenges, he goes out of his way to help and mentor others. Colby continues to inspire those around him and was nominated by his mom, who is proud of his positivity, determination, and generous spirit. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
