Emsleigh was on her way to a class trip to Disney when she got sick and was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with an autoimmune illness. She kept a positive attitude and has been so brave with all the new things she has experienced. She’s been an encouragement to the staff with her bright spirits amid the hardships of a new condition. She also took control of her medical care early on which is not typical for a child her age. Emsleigh is such a hero for how she handled her hospitalization. She is a delightful young girl with a smile that brightens the room. Her laugh is contagious to all she comes in contact with. She was nominated by Child Life Specialist Annie Insley at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Midlands in Columbia, SC. “Emsleigh is so deserving of this reward because of the positive attitude she has had throughout this new diagnosis and missing her class trip,” said Insley. “Emsleigh is a hero and an inspiration.” Kids Wish Network is happy to award her as a Hero.
