Patient Shows Kindness to Others During Recovery

Isaac expected to undergo urgent surgery for his health trauma but instead had a prolonged hospitalization to receive crucial treatments. He was sad to be in the hospital for so long but maintained a great attitude throughout his admission. Isaac was compliant and respected hospital staff, stayed still for IV changes and medicine, and pushed himself to walk for recovery. He also showed kindness sharing his toys, activities, and food with his hospital roommate. Even though Isaac was going through so many personal challenges, he continued to think about the happiness of others, painting cards as gifts for his family and friends.

He was nominated by his Child Life Specialist Jordana Lumerman at Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Kids Wish Network joyfully rewarded Isaac as a Hero of the Month.

Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
