FOUNTAIN, Colo.(February 2021): Peter was surprised to receive a video message from someone special who motivates him to follow his dreams and reach his goals. It was Susan, his teammate from an online group whose been running in his honor and sending him her marathon medals for several years. She’s equally inspired by Peter who has cerebral palsy and defied his prognosis of never being able to walk. While these online friends live states apart and never met, their support of one another is felt across the miles. Susan’s heartfelt video message to him revealed thrilling news, “I’m so excited that I get to share something amazing with you,” she said. “It’s not about another medal, it’s about Kids Wish Network, and they’re making your dream come true!” Peter and his family will experience his ultimate beach getaway with generous gift cards for Airbnb and the airline of his choice. “We also have beautiful beaches here in Florida, especially Tampa Bay, and it would be awesome to be able to meet you,” continued Susan. “Whatever you decide, I’m so happy that your wish is coming true, and I’m very grateful that Kids Wish Network is making this happen for you.” Peter and his family plan on coming to Florida, so hopefully they can finally meet.

Peter was never expected to walk after his diagnosis, but showed what determination can do, even playing basketball and running. He wears leg and knee braces, and although he falls a lot, he gets right back up and doesn’t let it hold him back. Peter also deals with additional health challenges and has undergone multiple surgeries. He’ll likely need more in the future.“ We’re so happy we could give Peter his much-needed getaway to look forward to, and time with his family creating treasured memories,” said his Wish Coordinator Kim Kreiner.
