ALEXANDRIA, Va.(September 2022): Leonel struggled with so many life changes after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His chemo treatments and medications made him feel fatigued and down, and he had a hard time being isolated at home and not seeing his friends at preschool. Carefree days were just a memory until his wish came true. Leonel dreamed of going to the beach, but he could never have imagined his wish would take him to paradise.

Kids Wish Network gave Leonel and his family a fabulous Cancun getaway, sending them to the spectacular Moon Palace resort! His amazing surprise also included a generous Target gift card for Leonel to get everything he needed for his big trip. His family reveled in luxury at the all-inclusive Moon Palace resort indulging in lavish accommodations, decadent meals, and stunning pools amid the picturesque beach landscape. During their trip, they also toured a Mayan temple in Tulum, and a cave that was Leonel’s favorite adventure. “Thank you, thank you for this memorable wish that we’ll never forget,it was very much needed for our little family,” said Leonel’s mom, Ruth. “We appreciate everyone that made this possible for us, and wish we could hug everyone for this generous, amazing experience.” Leonel’s postcard-perfect get away was filled with so many special memories, the most meaningful souvenirs his family will always treasure.
