Kids Wish Network is ‘Psych’ed to Have Kentucky Boy Meet Psych Star James Roday

Noah has familial adenomatous polyposis, a rare inherited cancer predisposition syndrome. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses spoke with Noah to find out what brings him his happiness. He shared that he loves watching the show Psych - especially his favorite actor James Roday. Noah had no idea what was about to unfold. He thought he was simply taking a trip with his mom to Los Angeles for a mother/son bonding trip – psych!

Kids Wish Network flew Noah and his mom to Los Angeles and provided lunch at LA hotspot Little Dom’s, a place to be seen and dine among Hollywood stars. Noah and his mom also felt like celebrities being chauffeured to the restaurant by A First Class Limousine. When they were seated at a table with additional menus, it became clear they weren’t dining alone. A special manager joined them and said that James would be there shortly… And then in walked James Roday. “I was really excited when I found out,” said Noah who was starstruck. “I was sitting by a celebrity and I was speechless.”

Then something else amazing happened… James Roday excused himself and had his own surprise. He returned to the table, and within minutes Psych co-star Maggie Lawson arrived. Noah said, “I wasn’t able to see behind me, and when she walked in, I was speechless again.”

It was like a Psych reunion. They enjoyed hours of conversation, took pictures together, and Noah received many hugs. James Roday also graciously gave him a very meaningful memento that he saved and wanted him to have… it was the canvas back of his director’s chair from the set of Psych. It had James Roday’s name printed on the front and a personalized autograph for Noah on the back. He also gifted Noah with a signed Psych DVD set and photos.

During the wish, Noah and his mom were given the star treatment staying at the luxurious Kimpton La Peer Hotel. They also enjoyed a fun day at Universal Studios.

“Everybody during our wish was so wonderful,” said Noah’s mom Crystal. “I wish everyone on the planet was that nice and compassionate.”  Noah said, “I look at things more positively now. People were so kind.”

“Noah’s wish had the special element of him also being surprised,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Tam Lai. “He was in awe and his family said it was the first time he was ever speechless.”
