Orlando Wish is Full of Love, Laughter and Family Togetherness
ORLANDO, Fl.(March2023): A traumatic injury forever changed Piper’s life. She is now paralyzed from the waist down, relies on a ventilator to breathe, and has a gastric tube for feeding. It all began with a freak accident during playtime combined with her not yet diagnosed Chiari malformation causing flaccid tetraplegia and myelomalacia. Piper has undergone surgeries and therapies and continues to inspire others with her determination and resourcefulness in adapting to her new world.
Piper had so many Disney characters that she wanted to meet. She lights up when she talks about the Disney Princesses, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Elsa, Olaf, and Anna from her favorite movie Frozen. These animated friends bring her so much joy, so imagine the happiness she felt embraced in big hugs from her adored characters on her wish trip to Disney World. She met her favorite princess, Ariel, loved the character experience escorted in by Goofy, gave kisses to Mickey, and talked with Donald and Daisy. At her hotel, she went in the “big pool” for the first time since her accident.
Kids Wish Network made her dream come true facilitating 3-day Disney Park Hopper passes for Piper and her family to experience Disney World. They also received tickets for LEGOLAND courtesy of Merlin’s Magic Wand, and 2-day passes for Universal Orlando theme parks provided byUniversal.
KidsWish Network also purchased her family a Hotels.com gift card, and provided additional assistance for their travels.“ We were so excited for this family trip to celebrate everything Piper has overcome and continues to overcome,” said her mom Haley.“She had the time of her life this week. I’ll definitely cherish these memories forever.” Her wish was a very special time full of love, laughter, and meaningful family moments that will continue to thrive as happy memories.
