Joe Satriani Inspires Wish Kid
Kyler Kieft loves guitars and instrumental rock and roll. He aspires to become a professional music therapist one day. He loves listening to classic rock guitarists and one of his idols is Joe Satriani. Kids Wish Network, a children’s charity that grants wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses, made Kyler’s dream come true flying his family to Clearwater, Florida to meet Satriani and see him perform live for his rocking wish.
Kyler and his family stayed at the wonderful Crystal Palms Beach Resort in Treasure Island, Florida. The night before the concert, Kyler and his family enjoyed strolling along the beach and visiting the Boardwalk at John’s Pass. On the day of the big concert, Kyler and his family had a great lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Afterwards, Kyler and his family headed to the hotel that Joe was staying at to meet and talk with him before the big show. Kyler loved talking with Joe one-on-one and was beyond excited when Joe signed one of his guitars which now hangs proudly on the wall in Kyler’s room.
After spending time with Joe and receiving some helpful advice on how to make it in the music industry, Kyler went to see Joe play at Ruth Eckerd Hall in the Experience Hendrix show, a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Kyler’s favorite songs of the night were “Voodoo Child” and “Hey Joe”. Kyler truly had an amazing musical experience he would always remember.
