Hot Tub Brings Brothers Comfort and Joy Before the Holidays

O’FALLON, MO. (December 2023): Brothers Samson and Ezra struggle with debilitating conditions that cause chronic pain. Kids Wish Network made both their dreams come true with a very special gift. With the kindness and extreme generosity of The Pool Guys donating a spectacular hot tub for the double wish, Samson and Ezra received much-needed comfort and joy before the holidays. “The day that we lower them into the hot tub and give them some relief will be so wonderful,” said their dad Justin. The treasured gift will continue to keep on giving, easing their immediate pain with a soothing soak outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Other caring sponsors also participated in their wish. IKEA is the boys’ favorite store to hang out at and people watch, so they donated a gift card and meals for the family to enjoy, and The Magic House Children’s Museum in St. Louis provided eight passes for their family to visit.

The siblings continue to face growing health challenges. Samson has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. He undergoes occupational and speech therapies, and now needs a wheelchair. Ezra was born with familial arthrogryposis-cholestalic hepatorenal syndrome, and was in the NICU for the first seven months of his life. He was put on a ventilator and feeding tube shorty after birth, and has undergone multiple corrective surgeries. Ezra is unable to control his head or sit up, and relies on his wheelchair. He goes to speech, occupational and physical therapies, and requires 24-hour care. Samson and Ezra were adopted into their loving family.
