Hero Suffers Many Loses, Yet Selflessly Cares for Others
Christopher has been through a lot of trauma in his young life. He tragically lost his dad when he was only five years old and moved in with his grandparents. Years later, he suffered another devastating loss with the passing of his adored uncle. His grief runs deep; Life has been especially stressful with the ongoing pandemic. His younger brother has a medical condition, and Christopher needs to be extra careful in protecting his brother and grandparents from COVID. Since he has to limit his contact with others, it’s been tough on this talented athlete not to be able to play sports. While he feels disconnected from his social circle, he does whatever necessary to protect his family. Despite all of his personal challenges, he perseveres and is extremely caring, helpful, and spends a lot of time selflessly looking out for his family and their needs. He was nominated by Brittany Denecke, his Child Life Specialist at Notre Dame Pedi Pals. Kids Wish Network is honored to reward Christopher as a Hero of the Month.
Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
