Hero Selflessly Honors Brother’s Memory on Her Birthday and Beyond
Kylie continues to cope with the passing of her older brother. She spent most of her time coming and going from hospitals as he battled brain cancer. Though he was ill, he was Kylie’s protector. She knew her brother was in and out of hospitals, but she always knew him to return home. Kayden sadly passed away. Though Kylie’s mom explained that her brother was in heaven, she continues to keep his memory alive with pictures, videos, and his love for Spider-Man.
When Kylie celebrated her birthday, she was asked to make a wish and decide how she wanted to spend her birthday. Instead of making her special day about herself, she told her mom that she wanted to visit her brother. That’s how she spent her birthday. She was surrounded by family at her brother’s gravesite where she sat and talked to him for hours, ending her evening with pizza and cake. “For a child to choose to spend their birthday at a cemetery over a day of fun and games shows just how selfless one can be, and deserves a great deal of admiration,” said a friend of their family. “I truly believe Kylie is deserving of this honor.”
Kylie loves everything that sparkles and glitters. She is very inquisitive, energetic, and loves helping others.
She was nominated by the family friend, and Kids Wish Network honored Kylie as a Hero with its special Hero of the Month gift package.
