Hero Lifts Up Others in Need Amid Her Own Personal Struggles

Maliayah is a remarkable teen whose resilience and determination shine through despite the challenges she has faced. Born with a left obstetrical brachial plexus injury, she has experienced physical obstacles at a young age, but her strength and perseverance have allowed her to overcome them. Through countless hours of therapy and numerous surgeries with more to come, Maliyah has defied the odds.

Despite her struggle, she remains focused on living her life to the fullest, and has become a source of inspiration for those around her. She encourages her peers to believe in themselves, and to understand that with effort and determination anything is possible. Whether it’s basketball or volleyball tryouts where she has faced difficulty, Maliyah refuses to give up. Even though she sometimes gets discouraged, her unyielding spirit pushes her to keep going, proving time and time again that she can accomplish whatever she sets her mind to.

She now faces a new challenge with the heart-wrenching diagnosis of her father’s Stage 4 cancer. Maliyah continues to encourage him, offering her unwavering support in this incredibly tough time. Her compassion and bravery in the face of such hardship is truly inspiring.

Maliayah also gives back to her community. She volunteers her time with a local organization during the holidays, helping those in need with a heart full of joy. Her willingness to give of herself and others even in the midst of personal hardship speaks volumes about her character and the light she brings to the world.
