Hero Inspires, Makes Great Strides to Walk Again

Rashkihad many surgeries on his left leg, and after his recent operation, struggled with having to be on-weight-bearing for nearly a year. After being off his leg for so long, he had atrophied muscles and needed to relearn how to walk. He made great strides progressing from a wheelchair, to a rolling walker, to walking all on his own. Through it all, he kept a positive attitude and gave his therapy 100% effort, never saying no to trying an exercise. He also continued his hard work at home, practicing therapy with his dad to continue building his strength and balance. His dedication inspired his nomination by Alison Diaz, his physical therapist at Memorial Hospital West Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Kids Wish Network is happy to honor Rashki as a Hero of the Month

Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
