Hero Continues to Inspire Amid Ongoing Challenges
Lily was adopted from China at 23 months old, and was later diagnosed with a condition that affects her knees and ankles. Throughout the years, she’s undergone many surgeries. Even with her physical challenges, Lily plays volleyball, participates in the gym at school, and makes lots of friends. Through it all, she’s an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society. She also plays clarinet in her middle school band and the violin in the Empire State Youth Orchestra. Lily is very positive, caring, and supportive of others. She was nominated by her Child Life Specialist KateMoynihan at Shriner’s Hospital in Springfield, MA, who continues to be inspired by her. Kids Wish Network is thrilled to reward Lily as a Hero.“Being named Hero of the Month has lifted her spirits and filled her with excitement!” said her mom to Kids Wish Network.“Lily feels very special to be recognized for her perseverance, and loves the bear, bracelet, T-shirt, and gift card.”She’s already started her shopping spree and still plans on getting an apple pencil.
Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
