Hero Bravely Faces Medical Unknowns

For the first three years of Reese’s life, she was in and out of the hospital and staying for at least a week each admission. She’s now five, and her rare lung illness makes even the most simple things difficult. A recent dentist appointment for routine dental work had her going to a children’s hospital for outpatient surgery. Her pulse and other vital signs had to be monitored, and she coped with lots of unknowns and having to see doctors, nurses, an anesthesiologist, and other hospital staff. Through it all, she remained positive and kept her happy disposition. Her dad nominated her and is so proud of how bravely she handled all the challenges. Kids WishNetwork is happy to name Reese as a Hero of the Month.

Kids Wish Network has been making dreams come true for children since 1997. We are dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children experiencing life-altering situations. We started with the single purpose of granting wishes to children suffering from life-threatening conditions but have since created additional programs to benefit kids nationwide, including Hero of the Month, Project Toy Drop, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and A Child Forever Funeral Assistance.
