Hospitalized Teen Gets Exclusive Screening of New Marvel Blockbuster

UVALDE, Texas (May 2023): Marco was a big fan of Marvel movies, and was so excited to see the soon to be released Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But just like his favorite superheroes, he was also facing battles. Marco was struggling with an intestinal perforation, severe sepsis, and respiratory failure, causing his health to rapidly deteriorate. He became confined to his hospital bed, and was placed in hospice care. All hope of getting to see his movie was gone. That was until Kids Wish Network quickly reached out for help to give Marco something that he could only dream of. His wish had a miraculous plot twist.

He wasn’t able to go to the movies, so Kids Wish Network with the kindness of Marvel Studios brought the action packed superhero blockbuster to him. A Marvel Security Executive with a laptop in tow gave Marco his own exclusive screening of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 right in his own hospital room! The film had only been released the day before. It was so amazing for Marco to watch his much anticipated movie from the comfort of his own hospital bed surrounded by loved ones. Kids Wish Network made his amazing wish even more incredible, gifting Marco his own laptop and Guardians of the Galaxy swag. Pizza Patrón in San Antonio provided pizzas for his gathering.

Marco passed away just hours after his meaningful celebration. The happiness he felt and precious final hours with those he loved will continue as cherished memories for his family. 

Kids Wish Network also provided funeral assistance to honor Marco through its A Child Forever program, and acknowledged his three siblings as Heroes, awarding them special gifts through its Hero of the Month program.
