Wish Kid Undergoing Chemo for Second Time Gets His Florida Adventure

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 2023): Out of anywhere that Jaylen could travel, he wished to go to Disney World. Kids Wish Network made it happen by providing generous Hotels.com gift cards, Disney gift cards that could be used for dining, shopping and more on Disney property, and facilitating Disney and Universal theme park passes. They also received Domino’s gift cards, and the additional means to make Jaylen’s wish a reality. It was a memorable adventure that was everything he dreamed of and more. 

He most loved the roller coasters at Universal, and the Star Wars ride at Disney. Jaylen was also treated like a VIP, and felt like he was king of the world using the special passes to ride the attractions without having to wait in any lines.

His mom Jennifer said he rated the trip a 10 out of 10 which is a huge compliment coming from Jaylen who is usually more nonchalant in saying things are just alright.

“It warmed my heart knowing that people out there will support you when things have taken a turn for your family,” said his mom. “The trip was the calm after the storm, because there was a storm, and now we can kick up our feet and just enjoy each other’s company and just laugh, because, ultimately we have not been laughing the past year and a half. I saw a lot of smiles on his face.” 

It’s been very stressful since Jaylen’s Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis. He went through four cycles of chemotherapy, and when his port was being removed, doctors noticed that the swelling in his neck returned. Jaylen relapsed. He underwent another five cycle round of chemo, a stronger treatment than his previous therapy.
