Aspiring Soccer Player Scores Goal with New England Revolution Wish

FOXBOROUGH, Maine (May 2024): Lincoln was so excited when his mom and dad showed up in his homeroom class at school. It became even more thrilling when they told him they had a special surprise, and his classmates started chanting his name. His parents announced that Kids Wish Network was making his dream come true, sending him to a home game of the New England Revolution! Lincoln began dancing and jumping around. Their celebration continued at home with a custom cake donated by Sweet Spot Bakery and balloons provided by Party City.

Lincoln’s passion for soccer also includes him playing on a league. After one of his tournaments, his family was chauffeured by Brandon Transportation LLC who donated their services for Lincoln’s wish. Their evening began at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse for a memorable fine dining experience. It was special in many ways, especially when the pastry chef invited Lincoln and his sister into the kitchen to help make a cake and apple pie. When it was time to eat, their meals were perfection. Lincoln can be a picky eater, but he was adventurous in trying new foods and loved everything. His family’s dinners were graciously provided by the restaurant.

Then they were off to Gillette Stadium. His family felt like VIPs with pre-game field passes and an exclusive locker room tour. Lincoln even got to fist bump a player on injured reserve, and it was very exciting for him to watch the players warm-up during practice. They later attended the evening’s game, and it was amazing sitting in the stadium among the energy of all the other fans. There was a feeling of comradery as Lincoln joined the crowd cheering Revolutions!

After his wish, Lincoln had a video call with his wish coordinator, and he was all decked out in his team’s merch wearing his Revolution jersey, scarf and hat. His elevated happiness continued as he spoke about his big day and revealed that his favorite part was everything! Now more than ever he’s further inspired to pursue a career as a professional soccer player.

Before Lincoln’s diagnosis, he experienced muscle weakness and skin rashes. Testing revealed he had juvenile dermatomyositis. He went through eight months of high dose steroids, IVIG every other week and MTX injections weekly. He continues MTX and does IVIG every five weeks.

Many Thanks

Kids Wish Network could not have provided this wish to Lincoln without the help of The New England Revolution Soccer Club, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse (Foxborough), Brandon Transportation LLC, Sweet Spot Bakery (Melrose), Party City (Saugus), and the many supporters who believe in making wishes come true for kids who need hope.
