Five-Year-Old Struggles with her New Normal

Alyssa has been going through a difficult time coping with a significant change in lifestyle after being diagnosed with two medical conditions. She also had a significant health scare that sent her to the emergency room. Alyssa endured days in the hospital and underwent difficult testing. She’s only five and struggles with adhering to a new strict diet and eating schedule that she’ll always need to follow. It’s tough watching other children eat whatever they like, and it makes her feel different. Despite all of her newfound challenges, she’s bubbly, outgoing, and remains sweet. She’s also very motherly to her older brother with special needs. She was nominated by her mom, who said, “Alyssa has been so strong and brave through all of this.”Kids Wish Network is happy to reward Alyssa as a Hero of the Month.
