Hero is Supportive and Strong Throughout Dad’s Cancer Journey

Right at the beginning of the school year, Camila’s dad was suddenly diagnosed with a non-seminomatousgerm cell tumor. Seven days from diagnosis he began treatment. The word cancer is hard for so many, but when it’s your parent, it’s especially difficult. Camila struggled at home with his diagnosis and sudden change with her daddy, but she was still able to function well at school with the support of her teacher. Emotions have been high, and Camila has done an exceptional job navigating her emotions, helping her daddy, and being able to start to express herself without fear of being judged.

Camila is a caring, sensitive, kind, helpful, and empathetic girl. She likes to make sure everyone around her is ok.

She loves her daddy, and while his sudden diagnosis and chemo treatments have been hard, she is his biggest cheerleader and encourager. Camila was nominated by her mom, who is so proud of her compassion, support, and strength throughout her dad’s cancer journey. Kids Wish Network is so pleased to award her as a Hero of the Month.
