Name: Abe
Age: 6
State: Wisconsin
In 2003, Abe was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. This is a rare genetic disorder in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. He endured his first surgery when he was only two weeks old and has had two more heart surgeries since then. Abe may have to have more surgeries in the future and may eventually have to have a pacemaker implanted in his chest. In addition, little Abe suffers with asthma and is on various heart and seizure medications for his condition.
Abe’s fondest wish was to have a playset of his very own, and now he’s got it! A local Boy Scout troop all pitched in, came over for a day and put together Abe’s brand new playground. Now that he’s got his backyard playground, Abe won’t stay off it!

Name: Carly
Age: 15
State: Wisconsin
Carly is an incredible young girl with a remarkable spirit and sweet nature. This special 15-year-old is a huge music lover and has played the violin and the piano. Some of Carly’s other favorite activities include watching her favorite show, NCIS, on television or cheering on her home football team, the Green Bay Packers. She’s crazy about the color pink and loves to eat out at the Olive Garden!
In August of 2006, Carly developed a blood clot on her spinal cord and suffered a spinal cord stroke. Immediately afterwards, she stopped breathing and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Carly spent over a month in the hospital on a ventilator and her doctors suspected she would be a quadriplegic. The stroke has left Carly confined to a wheelchair. With intensive therapy however, this brave young girl is slowly relearning to walk with the aid of a platform walker, and she also engages in horseback riding therapy.
This courageous girl has just one wish: Carly wants to visit the set of NCIS and meet her idol, Pauley Perrette!
