What is Kids Wish Network On Tour?
Kids Wish Network On Tour is a unique program that was designed to reach out to at-risk children who are living in remote areas and experiencing difficult situations relating to abuse, homelessness, abandonment, and neglect. With the assistance and participation of local police and fire departments as well as city and county officials, Kids Wish Network On Tour aims to bring “miles of smiles” to hundreds of thousands of children across the country through a day of memories and unity that will be remembered forever by these brave little warriors.
Partnering with the host cities, top toy manufacturers and trucking companies, Kids Wish Network On Tour will head into remote towns delivering new toys, games, clothes, baby strollers and other much-needed items to bring laughter to these deserving children and their families.
In addition to bringing joy to hundreds of thousands of children nationwide, Kids Wish Network On Tour events foster a positive relationship between the children and the communities where they live. Letting the children know that their local city and county officials really care about them will make a positive impact on their relationship in the future.
Shelley Breiner and Kids Wish Network On Tour
This innovative program was designed by Kids Wish Network’s founder, Shelley Breiner. As she was preparing for retirement, Shelley saw an ever-growing population of at-risk children facing abuse, neglect, homelessness and abandonment. She was devastated, but determined to help. Shelley convinced the board of directors for Kids Wish Network to broaden the charity’s mission to assist these children and she created Kids Wish Network On Tour.
Shelley has dedicated Kids Wish Network On Tour to her mother, the tenacious Barbara Askin, Director of Distribution for Kids Wish Network and “Queen Bee” of in-kind donations. This dynamic “force to be reckoned with” is known far and wide for her ability to acquire toys, gifts and other much-needed items valued at millions of dollars for the children served by Kids Wish Network’s programs. Her efforts have brought joy to hundreds and hundreds of thousands of deserving children nationwide, and her daughter Shelley wanted to show her gratitude and admiration through the dedication.
