Kids Wish Network On Tour was designed to distribute millions of dollars worth of brand new toys, clothes, necessities, educational products and other gifts to children facing adversity in cities all across the nation.
Kids Wish Network On Tour works closely with city and county officials to locate and invite at-risk children in their communities to attend the On Tour events. We are reaching out to children who are facing difficult circumstances including abuse, neglect, homelessness, abandonment and life-threatening illnesses.
With the generosity and support of our major freight sponsor, semi-trucks travel coast to coast, packed to the brim with brand new products donated by the nation’s top manufacturers.
When the trucks arrive in the chosen town, volunteers chosen by the city officials gather the day before the On Tour event to help sort and organize the toys and necessities at a pre-selected location (such as a school gymnasium). During the actual event, the mayors and other officials place these much-needed items directly into the hands of at-risk children during a day of fun and festivities that they are sure to remember for a long time.
The interaction between these at-risk children and participating officials provides these kids with a new and lasting perspective of community leaders and law enforcement, helping to foster better relationships between the children, their families and the communities they live in. Letting these families know that their local city and county officials really care about them will make a positive impact on their relations in the future.
“I would like to say thank you to Kids Wish Network for the joy they brought to our county and the four cities. We’ve never experienced anything of this magnitude. To see all of it, it was just a thrill.”
Mayor Alfred McClendon of Madisonville, TN
“This is the first time that we’ve had anything of this magnitude here in Yazoo City. It was truly a special day for our children to be a part of this awesome event. Watching our community come together to help deliver the toys and necessities and seeing our firemen and policemen do something special for our children …that was so rewarding; there were only smiles everywhere!”
Mayor McArthur Straughter of Yazoo City, MS
“When the officers see the joy and happiness on the faces of the children, that’s what it’s all about. All that On Tour has done will make it much easier for the people in this community. It was one of the most gratifying and humbling experiences that I’ve ever had, to watch as Kids Wish Network and our community partnered together as one and gave much joy to so many children and families.”
Police Chief Gregg Breeden of Madisonville, TN
