The Gift of Giving: Why one Guardian Angel was inspired to donate

Have you ever heard the expression “The gift is in the giving?” The giver often reaps as much joy as the recipient. We’ve seen this time and time again with our kind and generous Guardian Angels who experience as much joy as the Wish Kids they sponsor. They may give because they, too, have faced a life-threatening illness. Such was the case with Meg, owner of Tropical Kayaks. She shares the story of the “gift” she received when she gave to our Wish Kid Gage.

KWN Hero of the Month saves his little brother

Arriving by medical helicopter, 13-year-old Trevor was admitted to the Emergency Room at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital as a trauma patient. Trevor had fractured his femur bone, the strongest bone in the body, after heroically pushing his 2-year-old brother out of the way of a moving vehicle; Trevor was hit instead.

Raegan’s wish proves her disease doesn’t have to hold her back

Raegan is a 14-year-old girl just wanting to be a normal teenager, but the battle she faces everyday from her lifelong illnesses makes that hard. Raegan was diagnosed with dermatomyositis and lipodystrophy, both extremely rare diseases. Her diseases had prevented her from traveling long distances until Kids Wish Network stepped in to grant her wish to visit the Mall of America. Read more about Raegan’s exciting experience.
