Dear Heather,
On behalf of the Sunrise staff and the participants we serve, I write this letter with sincere admiration and gratitude. In this time of financial cutbacks and uncertainty, our community friends continue to keep us in their hearts and to support Sunrise and our participants with loving generosity. Your support of our mission to give free services to those who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence means so much to all of us here at Sunrise.
Thank you for your August 4, 2009 donation of (2) pallets containing miscellaneous toys, books, baby items, strollers, jewelry, games, stuffed animals and t-shirts. It is your generosity that helps Sunrise provide for all those who come through our doors needing free services and daily items such as clothing and food. Please know we couldn’t do what we do without people like you and organizations like Kids Wish Network!
Sincerely,
Penny Morrill, CEO
Dear Kids Wish Network,
I am so sorry that this thank you note is late in coming. It took us some time to take inventory of your more than generous contribution to us.
We open our large backroom at Christmas time with donated toys for our clients to get a few gefts for their children.
It will be a very good year for them because of you accepting us as one of your charitable sources to donate to.
The contribution consisted of:
4 Chicco travel systems, they are beautiful combination strollers and car seats, our new mothers will be delighted to receive one of them.
Large bag of stuffed towy, twelve TV games, Betty Boop dolls with matching t-shirts, 2 large boxes of knick knacks, assortment of books, pre-teen Idol books, box of sun hats, water guns, puzzles, box of Karito Kids (?), Second Nature Designs, box of Spinergy games, earrings, bracelets, fingernail polish, party favors, doll baby socks, box of birthday games, VCR tapes, three boxes of gift trap games and 1 box of plastic baskets with (?).
The volunteers and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We were delighted with all the products. It will make a very joyful Christmas for everyone. Thank you again for doing this for S.O.L.V.E.

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your donation of $20,000.00 worth of toys to the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program. It is a very thoughtful and generous donation. It is comforting to know that our community supports us.
The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program offers shelter to women and their dependents that are escaping domestic violence. Our facility holds 32 women and children and is manned 24/7. The SADVP makes every effort to provide for the needs of elder battered women, survivors of same sex violence, and persons with disabilities, and those from diverse cultural backgrounds, including non-English speaking survivors. The general stay is 6 to 8 weeks with a possible extension. There are three bathrooms and 8 bedrooms along with one handicapped that has a private handicapped bathroom. There is also optional support group if they feel the need to attend.
Other services include:
Crisis Counseling
Women’s Counseling (housing, name changes, relocation, social security, etc.)
Children’s Counseling
Victim Advocacy (assists with court papers, goes to court with survivor, offers information on the dynamics of domestic violence, etc.)
Information and referrals
24 hour crisis line
Also, our Outreach center duplicates many of the services the shelter offers within the community. If you or your organization has any questions about the shelter, please call me at 727-856-6498. Once again, thank you for thinking of us.
Sincerely,
Lynn Needs, Director
