Wish Kid Leah Wants to Tell Minnie Mouse How Much She Means To Her

Wish kid Leah - Kids Wish NetworkLeah was born with a form of Down’s syndrome called Trisomy 21 which is caused when an extra copy of chromosome #21 is present in every cell in the body. In addition, Leah was also born without any platelets in her blood. At just 18 months old she was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) or a rapidly progressing cancer of the blood or bone marrow.

Leah spent a year in the hospital undergoing both chemo and radiation therapies. Today, Leah receives speech, physical, and occupational therapies while she deals with vision, gastrointestinal, and bone density problems. Slowly but surely, Leah is showing signs of improvement.

Leah is able to recite her ABCs, shapes, and colors which she learned while in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy. Leah’s mother says that Leah is simply “the best,” and describes her as funny, smart, playful, and eager to learn. Leah enjoys going to summer camp where she gets to ride horses and be outside. Always the life of the party, Leah wants to be included in whatever is going on at the time. Leah has all sorts of memorabilia of Minnie Mouse, her favorite toy throughout her home and hopes to meet her someday to tell Minnie how much she means to her.

Kids Wish Network knows the perfect wish for Leah and is hard at work planning it for her; make sure to stay up to date on all of the details of her wish!
