“More than anything, she loves singing along with him”
Camryn lost her twin sibling in the womb, and she herself was born at only 28 weeks. During Camryn’s stay in NICU, she was diagnosed with epilepsy. A few months later, she was given an additional diagnosis of quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Camryn has been in a wheelchair for her entire life.
Camryn is a strong-willed and outgoing young lady. She enjoys coloring and reading Green Eggs and Ham. But, more than anything she loves singing along to Kenny Chesney’s greatest hits.
Kids Wish Network wanted to give Camryn the chance to not only sing along, but to also meet her idol, Kenny Chesney, at his concert in Louisville, KY.
Before checking into her suite at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, with its fantastic location in downtown Louisville, Camryn and her family toured the nearby Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Lunch was enjoyed at the Hard Rock Café, while Camryn’s excitement for the evening’s concert grew.
Of course, Camryn’s favorite part of the wish was when she actually met Kenny Chesney, the multi-year winner of CMA’s Entertainer of the Year, and had a picture taken with him. Mom said Camryn brought Mr. Chesney to tears during a private conversation between our Wish Kid and the country star.
Before leaving for home the next day, Camryn and family were treated to brunch and a river excursion aboard the Belle of Louisville, the oldest operating steamboat in the US and a National Historic Landmark.
The family will also always remember the kindness of the Henderson (KY) Fire Department who gave Camryn a pre-voyage party complete with cake, pizza, and ice cream. She was also given a grand tour of the fire department, sat in the fire truck, and pulled the siren.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank the following sponsors for helping make Camryn’s wish come true:
• Kenny Chesney
• Embassy Suites by Hilton Louisville Downtown
• Belle of Louisville
• Hard Rock Café
• Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory
• The Henderson (KY) Fire Department
