HOLIDAY, Fla. (Nov. 24, 2015): Kids Wish Network, a national children’s charity, recently donated over $20,000 worth of new toys, games, and comforting essentials to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, FL.
Kids Wish Network (KWN), in its ongoing mission to bring joy and smiles into the lives of children who need it most, partnered with the Arnold & Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation to provide the pediatric patients served at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital with new gifts as part of KWN’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program. Both a Kids Wish Network board member and the son of Arnold and Joy Gottlieb, Andrew Gottlieb, assumed the role of Santa by hand-delivering a truckload of stuffed animals, board games, and educational products to the young patients at Joe DiMaggio.
“It can be difficult for a child in a hospital environment. We are grateful for all of our generous partners, the Arnold & Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation among them, that help us give these kids new toys as tokens of comfort and reassurance,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella.
The children’s charity distributes new toys, games, and necessities to children facing life-altering circumstances and receiving services from hospitals, shelters, outreach programs, and other facilities across the nation. Through partnerships with thousands of toy manufacturers and other businesses across the country, Kids Wish Network is able to help hundreds of thousands of children each year through its Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program. The program benefits kids dealing with illness, abuse, neglect, or homelessness by providing items that offer a much-needed distraction from their fearful and distressing realities.
“I am grateful to Kids Wish Network for the opportunity to sponsor the Gift Bank for the kids at Joe DiMaggio’s,” said Andy Gottlieb. “Mostly, I wish all the children quick recoveries and healthy lives.”
